A multi-kilometer traffic jam formed on the St. Petersburg Ring Road after a massive road accident.
The accident was recorded at about 08:30 in the area of the 58th kilometer of the inner ring of the KAD, immediately after the cable-stayed bridge, the press service of the Federal State Institution North-West Federal Highway Administration reported. The moment of the collision was captured by CCTV cameras. It turned out that it all started when a car driving in the fourth lane suddenly changed lanes to the third lane. The driver behind it slowed down slightly, and the motorists following him did not have time to react quickly.
As a result, a “train of seven damaged cars” appeared on the ring road. The cars involved in the accident blocked the fourth, third and partly the second lanes of the inner ring of the ring road.
It was noted that no one was injured, but the vehicles received mechanical damage.
According to Yandex.Maps, the traffic jam soon stretched for 11 km.
