According to the Capital’s Road Brigade, the first information shows that a 31-year-old woman, who was driving a tram on Iancului Road from Mihai Bravu Road to Pantelimon Road, surprised and injured an 83-year-old man.
Following the traffic accident, the pedestrian was declared dead, after the medical crews performed resuscitation maneuvers.
The tram driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the indicated result being zero.
At the time of news transmission, tram traffic in both directions is restricted in the area.
Police officers of the Road Brigade are conducting investigations in order to accurately establish the causes and circumstances in which the road accident occurred.
