There are certain certainties in the world that we can rely on at all times. For example, that the sun will rise in the morning, or that the sky is blue and the water is wet. One of the certainties is that Apple, the most powerful technology company in the world, cannot make a proper alarm clock that would wake up iPhone owners on time. Yes, the age-old and somewhat laughable case of the iOS alarm clock is back.
Don’t know how to make a proper alarm clock app?
So definitely don’t ask Apple about it, because they obviously don’t know either. About five years ago, complaints from users of the iOS system, i.e. iPhones, that they set an alarm in the evening and it did not ring in the morning began to surface. As a result, many of them overslept and arrived late where they were supposed to be on time. Maybe to work.
Sometimes the alarm didn’t ring at all, sometimes after several hours, and the whole thing looked more like some class prank. But it wasn’t fun, it was reality. It is mildly laughable that the richest and most technologically advanced company in the world is not able to solve such a seemingly trivial thing as an alarm clock in half a decade.
The snooze alarm is back
Although it has been quite quiet lately, the case of the alarm clock, which is not 100% reliable (which is a rather fundamental problem), surfaces from time to time and now it is back again. On the platform Reddit complaints about delayed wake-ups are starting to pile up, and in one case the alarm went off at 12:42 instead of 10:30 in the morning.
Another user mentioned that the alarm didn’t go off and instead, the moment he opened the app, he got a notification saying the alarm was missed 24 minutes ago. As you can see, there are more options for not being woken up by the alarm clock within iOS, and it seems that the problem started to appear again with the arrival of the new iOS 18.2.1.
Are clock makers waiting for the harvest?
At first glance, the problem is banal and really laughable, but not being able to rely on an alarm clock is extremely annoying. You may be late for work, school, miss an important meeting or exam because of it. Some iPhone users even said that they preferred to buy a classic alarm clock for their bedside table, which is more reliable. Apparently, watch manufacturers are expecting a good harvest.
