The tech giant decided to roll out the extra search fields.

Perhaps many people didn’t even know, but for certain searches, Google hid an extra search field under the results. With the function, it was basically possible to perform specific searches within the given website, however, as it turned out, it was not particularly popular among users.

As a result, Google is the other day announcedto do away with the function: from November 21, it will start removing the extra search fields. The tech giant justified the decision with the lack of interest and with the fact that the search results page would thus become simpler and clearer.

“It’s been more than ten years since we first announced site-related search fields in Google, but over time we’ve noticed that their use has declined.”

– the company wrote in its statement.

Based on Google’s post, the removal will take place in stages, so it is possible that the extra search field will disappear for some users only a little later.
