A 45-year-old laborer died after falling from the 4th floor of an under-construction building in Agrabad Hajipara of Chittagong city.
The accident happened on Tuesday (November 19) at around 12 noon during centering work at Abu Syed’s building in Hajipara of the city. Later, the locals rescued her unconscious and took her to Agrabad Mother and Child Hospital where the doctor on duty declared her dead. Doublemooring police station OC Kazi Rafiq confirmed the matter.
Name of the deceased. Ershad. He is a resident of Ranad’s house in Maulvi Para under Doublemooring police station of the city. Ershad’s two sons and one daughter were killed.
Eyewitnesses said that he died on the spot around 12 noon while doing centering work on the 4th floor of Syed’s building in Hajipara, Agrabad. At this time, his head, nose and face were seriously injured.
Later, when he was rescued and taken to Agrabad Mother and Child Hospital, the doctors said that he had already died. They also said that for the past several days, he was often seen worrying.
Kazi Rafiq, OC of Doublemooring Police Station, said that a worker died after falling from the roof of a 4-storey building in Hajipara. However, no complaint has been filed by the family of the deceased. Complaints will be followed by legal action.
