A zoo and an amusement park are coming to Ada Ciganlija: What can we expect in the new complex?

The City of Belgrade will move the Zoo from Kalemegdan to a location next to Ada Safari Lake on Ada Ciganlija. In that position, there will also be a large entertainment and recreational park, which will create a space adapted to the different needs of visitors, with an emphasis on entertainment, education and nature conservation.

On this occasion, the Office of the Chief Urban Planner of the City of Belgrade and the Urban Institute of Belgrade issued an announcement urban planning and architectural competition for the conceptual solution of the zoo within the entertainment and recreational park on Ada Ciganlija, the portal eKapija announced.

It is planned that the new space will occupy an area of ​​28.29 hectares, with a total gross construction area of ​​6,200 square meters.

In addition to the zoo, the new complex will include numerous attractions such as outdoor and thermal swimming pools with a spa center, slides of different sizes and categories (roller coaster), Ferris wheel, carousel, merry-go-round, exhibition spacesas well as different types of playgrounds for children and facilities for family visits.

It is planned that the animals in the zoo will be grouped by continent for the purpose of educating visitors, writes eKapija, and the accommodation space for the animals will cover 13,654 square meters.

The construction of an administrative building is planned, research and educational centera room for animal rehabilitation, as well as catering establishments and souvenir shops.

For easier access to this complex, it is planned to use a motorized vehicle, and it will also be built two-story garage with a capacity of 2,580 parking spacesas well as the pier for vessels in the Čukarica backwater.

The project also includes a new sewage pumping station in addition to the existing one in Čukarica, according to eKapija.

The competition for the conceptual solution of the complex is open until January 27, 2025, and the prize fund amounts to a total of 10.5 million dinars.
