Three of the six laborers kidnapped at gunpoint in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf have been released. But the rest are still missing.

Quoting the locals, Dastgir Hossain said that in the morning seven to eight workers were going to Shamlapur by truck from the Hoikong station in Teknaf. When the truck reached Baharchhara Dhalla, a group of unidentified terrorists stopped the vehicle at gunpoint. Later six workers along with the helper in the car were kidnapped.
The kidnappers released the three people when the police started a quick operation after receiving the information. However, no trace of the remaining three people has been found yet. Dastgir Hossain said that the operation to rescue them is still going on.
According to the information of Cox’s Bazar District Police, 143 people have been abducted from different areas of Teknaf in the last one year and two months. Among them, 86 are local residents, 56 are Rohingya citizens. At least 69 of the kidnapped victims have been released on ransom.
The information of Teknaf police station says that from August 18, 2024 to the end of November, 13 cases of kidnapping have been reported in Teknaf police station. The number of accused in these cases is at least 60. So far 25 people have been arrested.
It should be noted that earlier on October 4, three bomb-like objects were found in the pile of scrap iron of the factory. At that time, the factory authorities made a general diary at the police station. Later, the police station informed the bomb disposal unit and they tested the three bomb-like objects. In the test, they confirmed that there is no explosive in the three bomb-like objects.
