Abloy has brought the Yale Linus L2 smart lock to the Finnish market. It is a new version of the Linus lock already on the market. With the renewed product, the lock on the home door can be opened without a key in both small houses and housing associations.
The Yale Linus L2 is an independently functioning smart lock that can be connected as part of a wider Yale security system. In addition to smart locks, for example an alarm system, surveillance cameras or a doorbell camera can be connected to the system.
With the Yale Home app, users can control and monitor all of these home security functions remotely, including unlocking and locking the home. The application keeps the user informed about the security situation in his home. Its event log helps you know when the home door is opened and closed, as well as when friends and family members registered in the application enter.

Improvements of the new Linus L2 smart lock include a built-in wireless WiFi local area network, which enables remote control without a separate Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge accessory. Linus L2 also allows consumers to connect it to smart home voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
The smart lock also works in housing associations, because installing the Linus L2 smart lock as part of the apartment’s locking does not affect, for example, the functionality of the housing association’s universal key on the front door of the apartment. However, according to the real estate association, the building association’s approval for the modification work is necessary, because the apartment’s exterior door lock is the building association’s responsibility for maintenance.
According to the manufacturer’s announcement, the Yale Linus L2 Nordic product version sold in the Nordic countries is suitable for almost all Finnish and Scandinavian doors and locks. Installing it does not require modification of the door, and the door lock can be easily reset if necessary.
