According to the Kremlin, nothing should be surprising about the United States

A Kremlin spokesman called the future of Russian-American relations important to the Russian Federation, noting that they are “now going through the worst period in history.” Peskov added that the Kremlin was not very surprised by Biden’s withdrawal from the election race, as they learned that nothing should be surprising in relation to the USA. He said that they do not expect much good from the outgoing Biden administration, but at the same time said that they are closely monitoring the American political process.

The Kremlin is not yet in a position to evaluate US Vice President Harris, according to Peskov, but noted that the US Vice President’s statements were full of unfriendly rhetoric towards Russia. As he said, it is clear that the USA will continue to help Ukraine, but by imposing an increasing financial burden on Europe. The American aid provided to Ukraine cannot affect the outcome of the special operation, but it leads to the prolongation of the conflict, he added.

Zelensky’s statements about the possibility of negotiations are better than the refusal to negotiate, but we have to wait for concrete steps, said Peskov.
