according to the majority, the Tisza Party will not need an alliance for a possible election victory

The results of a public opinion survey commissioned by Momentum and carried out by the 21 Research Center stated that Péter Magyar rightly claims that he does not need the old opposition parties – writes a hvg.hu.

The representative opinion poll conducted between November 7 and 11 asked voters who are not Fidesz or Mihazanko voters the following question: “Do you think the Tisza Party will be able to defeat Fidesz in 2026 without forming ties with another party alliance?”

According to the results, the answer of the majority is yes. 63 percent of the respondents believed that Péter Magyar’s party is more capable than not. Of course, among supporters of the Tisza Party, the proportion is even higher: 77 percent. Moreover, 63 percent of the voters of the other opposition parties believe that Tisza can bring about a change of government alone. On the other hand, among those who are unsure or without a party preference, the yes rate is only 32 percent.

The 21 Research Center also asked whether, according to the respondents, it would improve or worsen its chances if Tisza teamed up with only one specific formation or person. Here, too, the result showed that, according to the majority, Ákos Hadházy should at most be given space: 57 percent of the respondents thought that working together with an independent member of parliament would improve the chances of the Tisza Party. In the case of the Kutyapárt, the same proportion is only 37 percent, in the case of Momentum 26 percent, and in the case of DK 15 percent, that is, it is better for Ferenc Gyurcsány and his party if Péter Magyar’s formation does not ask.

There was only one question, to which the given answers contradict the above:

the majority believes that, despite all this, a coalition government would be better than if the Tisza Party governed alone after 2026.

Only 26 percent of all respondents thought that a single Tisza Party government would be better, but even supporters of Péter Magyar’s party only answered this in 29 percent. Among other parties and the undecided, the ratio is 18 and 19 percent, respectively.

The research center also asked politicians who they would like to see in key positions. The field is led toweringly by Péter Magyar, followed by Ákos Hadházy and Gergely Karácsony. Ferenc Gyurcsány was by far the most unpopular this time as well.

The survey is also important from the point of view that just yesterday Péter Magyar excluded him from participating in any opposition coalition or coordination, Tisza wants to measure itself alone in 2026. The announcement was not rewarded by the representatives of the other opposition parties.

Péter Magyar does not agree with incumbent opposition politicians, not even Ákos Hadházy
