According to the manufacturers, the new VGAs will not be stuffed with VRAM

In principle, this will be more of an advantage than a problem, because this way they will reach the players.

VGA manufacturers are slowly preparing for the new generation lineup, which is not officially discussed yet, but practically the announcements will be made within a few months. Most people expect that there will be relatively many changes, which is partially true, but the dream that the VRAM capacity will also increase is slowly disappearing. This would be necessary, because more and more games require 12-16 GB of VRAM, even more at higher resolutions, and we haven’t even talked about the titles coming in the future.

Because of the above, we inquired with the VGA manufacturers about how they will be able to serve these needs, but unfortunately there is no good news. We found out that it would be technically possible to release 32, 48 or 64 GB VGAs as well, as only enough would have to be added so that memories are not only on one side of the printed circuit board. This was a long-established habit, and today there is basically no obstacle, provided, of course, that the consumption limit can be increased enough to accommodate the extra 20-40 watts.

According to our information, it was planned for a very long time that 24-32 GB solutions could arrive in the upper housing, but even at the top of the middle category, 32 GB was an option, but at the same time, there is such an amazing demand for AI accelerators that these ideas have changed. Currently, even VGA manufacturers would not see it as assured whether 24-32 GB VGAs can land with gamers, because AI-based companies can simply buy up every product that comes out of the factory. With this, the players would not have access to the new developments, just like during the mining fever. For this reason, those involved came up with the idea of limiting the VRAM capacity as much as possible and worthwhile, which is unfavorable for AI. For this reason, both AMD and NVIDIA only plan a 32 GB model for the top model in the series, the smaller one will have 16 GB. Of course, in terms of price, the 32 GB Radeon will remain far below the 32 GB GeForce, but according to one of the manufacturers involved, AMD will not even offer a level of AI support that would be attractive to companies, so the red page directs interested parties towards professional options, while NVIDIA does not really focus on this, the top-end GeForce will also receive full product support, in return it will be more expensive than ever before, practically at a professional price level.
