Acer expands mobile gaming consoles with Ryzen 7 8840HS with large models Nitro Blaze 8 and 11

In September, new Acer Nitro Blaze 7 mobile gaming consoles with AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor were introduced. It, or its special version Ryzen Z1 Extreme, has become a very popular chip for similar types of products. It now appears in two more variants of game consoles from this manufacturer, Nitro Blaze 8 a 11. These names indicate the diagonals of the displays, although the Nitro Blaze 8 has an 8.8″ display (we would probably rather expect the designation 9), the Nitro Blaze 11 has a 10.95″ diagonal. In both cases, we find a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels (the 7″ version has Full HD 1920×1080 pixels), so the question is how the existing hardware copes with the increased resolution. In both cases, we have a maximum brightness of 500 nits, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and 97% DCI-P3 space coverage.

So the processor is still AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS (8 cores, max. clock speed 5.1 GHz, 24 MB cache) with an integrated graphics chip AMD Radeon 780M (12 CU, RDNA 3, 2.7 GHz). It supports both Radeon Super Resolution and FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) features. There is also 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory and a 2 TB SSD (PCIe Gen4 NVMe). Gamers have the Acer Game Space app here. There is an audio system supporting DTS:X Ultra with 2×2 W output, USB-C 4 (40 Gbps), USB-C 3.2, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. While the 8″ version has the drivers integrated, in the case of the 11″ version they are removable.

Power is provided by a 55Wh Li-Pol battery. The smaller version has dimensions of 30.5×13.4×2.2 cm and weighs 720 grams, the larger version has dimensions of 36.4×17.1×1.59 cm and weighs 1050 grams. Both versions have the Windows 11 Home operating system. As for pricing, the Nitro Blaze 8 (GN782U) will be priced at €999, while the larger Nitro Blaze 11 will cost €1199.
