ACM is investigating complaints about travel provider Reizendeals.nl

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) is investigating online travel provider Reizendeals. The supervisor leaves the checkout program know that there are many complaints from travelers, both from the Netherlands and Belgium. On the Reizendeals website – where an auction principle appears to apply – various trips are offered for a minimum bid. If someone places the highest bid, it is immediately a booking and payment must be made.

Yet many consumers do not seem to realize this – or not sufficiently. In addition, there is doubt as to whether there is an auction.

On the Reizendeals site, which has a large countdown clock for each offer, there are almost only ‘surprise trips’. For these types of trips, people are often not sufficiently informed in advance about essential information.

The European Consumer Center (ECC) alerted Reizendeals several times about all the complaints. But Reizendeals stated time and time again that they fully inform consumers and that the texts on their site are coordinated with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets.

Reizendeals threatened with summary proceedings against Kassa if the program paid attention to complaints about their site. They believe that everything can be found clearly on the website. ‘We are convinced that our trips are offered in a clear manner, in accordance with the rules. The complaints that Kassa will mention will mainly contain outdated and incorrect information. Information that does not correspond to reality,’ is the rather strange response.
