“One Tree Hill” actor Paul Teal has died at the age of 35 after battling pancreatic cancer, US media outlet TMZ reported on Monday.
His partner and fellow actress, Emilia Torello, announced in a post on Instagram on Sunday that Teal died on Friday, November 15.
“The most thoughtful, inspiring, motivated, self-disciplined and loving man has passed away (…) They took you too soon, in a battle that you fought bravely and without fail”, stressed Torello, in a statement accompanied by a photo of the two .
The actress told TMZ on Monday that Teal had been battling pancreatic cancer since April, when he was diagnosed, and died at a hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, last week.
Teal, who played Josh in the teen series “One Tree Hill” in seven episodes, was also remembered on social media by his co-star Bethany Joy Lenz, who sent an emotional message to the actor.
“My heart is heavy. Paul Teal was the kind of guy who lit up a room without trying. His bright smile, captivating laugh and big heart made you want to be around him,” said Joy Lenz, who said she worked closely collaboration with him.
Teal was also part of films such as “Deep Water” or “Fear Street: 1978” and the series “The Hunting Wives”, currently in post-production.
