Actor Suphi Tekniker will be sent off on his last journey tomorrow

A ceremony will be held at Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage at 11.00 tomorrow for Suphi Tekniker, who will be sent off on his last journey tomorrow. The artist will be buried in Ayazağa Cemetery after the funeral prayer that will be performed after the noon prayer at Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque.

About the artist

The technician was born on January 10, 1940 in Mersin. The artist, who studied high school in Mersin, graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Geography. Tekniker became interested in theater acting in 1957 and appeared on stage as an amateur. With the encouragement of Muhsin Ertuğrul, Suphi Tekniker took the stage as an extra in the play ‘King Lear’ at the Istanbul City Theater in 1960. Later, the artist turned to cinema and starred in the movie ‘Cici Katibem’, whose script was written by Erdoğan Tünaş and starring Fatma Girik, Orhan Günşiray and Suphi Kamer.

The artist wrote the scripts of many films after 1975. He contributed to the script of popular films such as ‘Our Hope Şaban’, ‘En Büyük Şaban’ and ‘Hanzo’ starring Kemal Sunal. He also wrote the scripts of the productions ‘Dil Yarası’ and ‘Kaptan’, starring Orhan Gencebay. Suphi Tekniker also brought the books ‘Unfortunately Honourable’ and ‘From Theater to Cinema, Darülbedayi in the Leading Role’ to the readers.
