Actress Shami Kaiser has been arrested. Uttara Purba police station arrested him from Uttara area of Dhaka on Tuesday night.
DMP Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Raonak Jahan confirmed to Dhaka Times that Shami Kaiser was arrested from House No. 53, Road No. 6, Uttara Sector 4.
DC Rawonak said that in a case in Uttara Purba Police Station, Shami Kaiser is the accused.
The victim himself filed this case in Dhaka’s CMM court on October 9 on the charge of attempting to kill a BNP worker named Syed Hasan Mahmud.
In addition to Shami Kaiser, 17 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Minister Tarana Halim, former MP Mumtaz Begum were accused in the case.
Besides, a defamation case of Tk 100 crore has been filed against Shami Kaiser in Magura court for insulting BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.
On October 13, Rezwan Kabir, a worker of the Magura District Volunteer Party filed this case in the court of the Senior Judicial Magistrate.
