This iPhone shortcut could literally save your life. If you are in a dangerous situation, you can double-tap the back of your iPhone and it will send a message, your location, front camera photo, back camera photo, and clickable location to a contact you choose. So, here’s how to use it.
To use this shortcut, go to this link and click "Add Shortcut". This will automatically be saved in your Shortcuts list.
Some notes
- This shortcut was made by the Brazilian content creator "Jornada Top", so some features are in Brazilian Portuguese. To change, simply click on the 3 dots located in the upper right corner of the transferred shortcut. Change the texts by clicking on them.
- Also, when you set it up, make sure you use it at least once to give it full access to all the actions it requires - like letting you take photos and access location.
So, this shortcut triggers the following actions:
- Sends a message saying "I'm in danger, help me!" to the "Recipients" you choose. Everything is ready, you just need to choose the recipients, such as a family member or a trusted person.
- You take a photo with the rear camera and send it to the recipients you choose.
- The same with the front camera.
- Gets your current location and sends it to your chosen contact list.
- And finally, send a Maps URL to the list of people you want.
Now, the ideal would be to configure a shortcut (two touches ago, for example) to activate the shortcut in dangerous situations. For that:
1. Access your iPhone's "Settings".
2. Click on "Accessibility".
3. Here, click on "Ringtone".
4. Now, drag it down and click on "Tap on the back".
5. Choose between "Double tap" or "Triple tap".
6. Select "Help!" in the "Shortcuts" tab.
With this shortcut set up, your iPhone can become an essential personal security tool, helping you act quickly in dangerous situations. This shortcut is especially useful for those who want to feel more protected when leaving home.
