Adrian Porumboiu, the former owner of the FC Vaslui team, made an offer to take over a Superliga club.
The former referee expressed his desire to invest in the Poli Iasi team, with the aim of turning it into a championship force. He tried four times to take over the team, but each time he failed to reach an agreement with the local authorities.
The former patron of FC Vaslui, Adrian Porumboiu, offer for a Superliga club. He wanted to transform the team from Romania’s second city into a force
Adrian Porumboiu is of the opinion that Iasi, the second largest city in Romania, deserves a new stadium.
“I flirted four times, the fifth time I don’t try. No one will succeed because it is the party’s team. They want to cross, they want to head. They have a very good leader, Şfaițer, I think he is the salt and pepper there.
Iasi is the second city in Romania and they are not able to build a stadium”, revealed Adrian Porumboiu, according to Digisport.
“It is the gift made by members of the Porumboiu family”
The cathedral built by Adrian Porumboiu a was, recently, sanctified, an event attended by thousands of people. Most Reverend Father Ignatie, Bishop of Husi, emphasized the involvement of the businessman.
“The moment of consecration of a church is one that assures us that the toil, the work of those involved in the construction and beautification of this place of worship, this cathedral church, is, as Father Patriarch Daniel so suggestively and beautifully tells us, our gift to eternity, for God’s sake.
We thank the Lord for this moment, as well as the founders of this church. It is a special case of having only one founder.
This cathedral is the gift of wonderful and, of course, discreet people at the same time. It is the foundation of the family of Mr. Adrian Porumboiu, his wife, Viorica, and children, Corneliu and Octavian.
It is a splendid church, a jewel for our city, and it is the gift made by the members of the Porumboiu family. It’s an investment for eternity.
You will ask me how these terms can come together: church, investment. One of the great Fathers of the Orthodox Church, Saint Seraphim of Sarov, likens the Christian life and the Christian’s concern to acquire the Holy Spirit to what a businessman undertakes to increase his financial capital a little: he is very attentive to all the details, he calculates with thoroughness everything that can benefit him and he is very careful about the balance between what he spends and invests. That’s how a businessman is: intelligent”, stated the Most Reverend Father Ignatius, the Bishop of Husi.
