The collaboration between Sony e Honda gave life all’Afeela 1an electric sedan that aims to redefine standards in the luxury car segment. Presented at CES 2025combines Sony’s technological innovation with Honda’s automotive expertise, offering a vehicle that promises to revolutionize the concept of electric mobility.
Elegant design and advanced features
The Afeela 1 features a refined design with sinuous lines and an aerodynamic body. Generous dimensions, with a length of 4.91 meters and a wheelbase of 3 metres, guarantee space and comfort for occupants. A distinctive feature is the front “Media Bar”, a light bar that communicates information to external users, such as charging status or weather conditions.
Technological interiors and superior comfort
Inside, the electric flagship delivers a minimalist and technologically advanced environment. The dashboard is dominated by a large panel that integrates screens for the driver and passengers, providing dynamic information and entertainment. The rear seats have dedicated screens, while the high-quality audio system supports technologies such as Dolby Atmos and Sony Spatial Sound, ensuring an immersive sound experience.
Electrical performance and autonomy
The Afeela 1 is equipped with two permanent magnet electric motors, one per axis, which together deliver a total power of 490 HPensuring all-wheel drive and high performance. There 91 kWh lithium ion battery offer an estimated autonomy of approximately 480 km (300 miles) according to the EPA cycle. DC fast charging is supported up to 150 kW, allowing for reduced charging times. Furthermore, the Afeela 1 is compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network thanks to the adoption of the NACS standard.
Autonomous driving and safety
Equipped with 40 sensors, including cameras, radar and LiDARthe Afeela 1 offers features of level 2 assisted driving+, aiming to reach level 3 in the future. This technology allows the vehicle to autonomously manage different driving situations, increasing safety and comfort during travel.
Entertainment and connectivity
Thanks to Sony’s experience in the entertainment sector, the Afeela 1 integrates services such as Spotify, Amazon Music and Audible, offering a wide range of multimedia content. The infotainment system is based on advanced technologies, ensuring an intuitive and customizable interface for all occupants.
Pricing and availability of Afeela 1
Reservations for the Afeela 1 are currently open to California residents only, with a $200 refundable deposit. The model will be available in two versions:
- Origin: Starting price of $89,900, with deliveries expected in 2027.
- Signature: price of $102,900, with deliveries starting in 2026.
