After 30 years since the release of the legendary album, the Familija group arrives at BitefArtCafe

We have been waiting for a long time, even 30 years, to hear the veterans of the Serbian rock scene. Finally a group Family arrives on stage BitefArtCafe club November 22.

The Familija group is a representative of the Serbian ska rock scene, formed in the middle of the last decade of the twentieth century. The band released their first album in February 1994 under the name National Theatreunder the auspices of the production company PGP RTS. Pejović, Vasiljević, Lukić and Petrović they wrote all their songs in different musical styles combined with a pop rock sound. The album included the hits Baltazar, Mala mala, Što ja love taj seks and Nije mi nita.

The band’s second album, Peasant revoltwas released in May 1997. In addition to the song Brate Murata, the album produced by Đorđe Petrović also included hits such as Paranoja and Boli me kita.

1999 group splits up due to the lack of financial resources needed to issue the following projects. The group had several attempts and initiatives to regroup and start performing, but each time failed. The reasons why it was not possible simply disappeared, and some new circumstances arose that allow us to play in the original line-up, even though we are not complete. Of the five of us who recorded the first album, Narodno Pozorište, there are four of us.

In 2011, the group’s song Family – How I love that sex it was voted among the 60 best songs ever published on Radio Belgrade since its existence.

3 years ago, the debut album was among the 100 best Serbian rock albums released after the collapse of the SFRY. The list of the best albums was found in the book How (we) failed rock and roll in Serbia.
