After all you have done to education, how dare you ask for my resignation

After everything you have done to education in Montenegro, where did you have the audacity to ask for my resignation, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović told the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).

She reacted to the announcement of the DPS of the Capital City, which states, among other things, that the representatives of the current government in Podgorica continue to misuse state resources during the election campaign, and that the latest example of this is the organization of the pre-election rally of the coalition “Europe Now-Democrats – Even Stronger – Prof. Dr. Saša Mujović” with the residents of Lješanska nahija, in the premises of the elementary school “Savo Kažić” in Barutana.

The DPS also called on Jakšić-Stojanović to take the burden of responsibility for the “brutal violation of the law and show a minimum of ethics by submitting an irrevocable resignation from the position of Minister of Education”.

“Dear citizens,

As the public is aware today, there was no political gathering at the “Savo Kažić” Elementary School. However, this did not prevent our colleagues from DPS to, despite the fact that they know the same as me, send a statement to the media in which they refer to ethics and the General Law on Education and Training, asking me, no less, than my resignation . When the public found out what they also knew before they sent the announcement, which is that the local community is not the same as the school (proof: photo 1 in the attachment), they asked the media to withdraw their announcement. Respected colleagues from the DPS, by trying to involve me in the ways of abuse that you practiced for a long time and thoroughly and by placing me in the framework of events that did not even happen, you probably tried to tell the citizens that we are all the same. And that I am like you. No, gentlemen, we are not all the same. And I will never be like you,” said Jakšić-Stojanović in the announcement.

She added that the department she manages has gained the trust of citizens in a way that DPS cannot or does not want to understand.

“The team that I am heading, in the previous ten months, had only one guiding principle, and that is to not do things like you, but to work for the good of the education system and all our children – both mine and yours. I am aware that you are burning for someone in case you discover pressures and abuses, especially in the run-up to the upcoming elections, then when you don’t find them, you invent them, but the citizens know that in the educational system that I manage, there is no place for politics or political debates in educational facilities manner. You should have read the law and article of the law that you are referring to in 2018 before you organized a pre-election political meeting in a school building in Kotor (evidence: attached photo 2),” said Jakšić Stojanović.

She said that the difference between her and DPS is also known to those who contact this department and her personally every day, feeling trust and expressing hope that better times for our education system are coming.

“It’s coming, you know it too, that’s why you’re trying to derail us with deception. But the truth has this strange quality of always showing up. Mine appeared in photo 1, and yours in photo 2 (both attached). Finally, in accordance with my profession, I can still state: Dear colleagues, it is not good. Please prepare better before you publish something. And when you have already confirmed that something is not true, do not rush for the sake of cheap political points. This time you have failed in front of the strictest committee of Montenegro, the educators, the students. They will put their signature on your failed attempt. And I will continue to work exclusively in the interest of both my and your children, making this educational system and our society better for all of us,” said the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation.
