After months of waiting, Motorola presents the “simple” model Edge 50

Despite the fact that Motorola has already launched no less than three devices in the Edge 50 range – the Moto Edge 50 Fusion as a mid-range alternative, the Moto Edge 50 Pro as a mid-high solution and the Moto Edge 50 Ultra as a flagship –, the company’s fans are they were rightly asking, where is the “simple” Motorola Edge 50 model? Well, after a few months of waiting, Motorola also comes with this answer.

Motorola’s India division, along with retailer Flipkart, has unveiled the Edge 50, which is slated to launch on August 1 in the local market. According to the official description from Flipkart, the Moto Edge 50 will be equipped with a pOLED curved screen, with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, with a resolution of 1.5K. Most likely, we will be dealing with a panel similar to the one on the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, with a resolution of 2712×1220, 10-bit color depth and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 spectrum, capable of a maximum brightness of 1900 nits. The fingerprint sensor will be integrated into this display.

Motorola praises the Edge 50 as the thinnest phone with MIL-STD-810H military certification, with an aluminum metal frame, water and dust resistance certified IP68, its “heart” to be represented by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 platform, cooled with a “vapor chamber” type system. The phone will have 256GB of storage. The battery will have a capacity of 5000 mAh and will offer support for fast charging by wire at 68W or wireless charging at 15W.

The camera system will consist of a 50 MP Sony Lytia 700C main sensor, which is also found on the Edge 50 Fusion model, but also a 10 MP telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom, along with an ultra-wide 13 MP (capable of capturing macro shots as well), alongside a 32MP selfie camera.

The manufacturer promises 3 years of major updates for the operating system on the Edge 50 (Android 14), as well as 4 years of security updates.

The Motorola Edge 50 will be available in three color options: Jungle Green, Pantone Peach Fuzz (both with a vegan leather back) and Koala Gray (with a vegan suede back).
