After robbing a house in Azimpur, miscreants also took away a six-month-old baby

An incident of robbery has taken place in a house in Azimpur of the capital. In this incident, along with the goods of the house, a six-month-old infant was also taken away by the bandits.

The incident took place in a house next to Lalbagh Tower on Friday afternoon. Several teams of police have already reached the ground to catch the robbers.

According to police and family sources, Farzana Akhter works in the Ministry of Home Affairs. She lives in that quarter with her husband and children. At noon a group of robbers entered their house. They took away one and a half lakh rupees and four loads of gold ornaments. The bandits also took their children with them when they left.

DC Lalbagh Division of Police in this regard. Jasimuddin said, “The robbers also took away the milk baby when they came to rob. The child’s mother works in government, they live in a rented house in Azimpur area.”

A post with a picture of the child has spread on Facebook. Farzana Akhtar’s colleague wrote in the post, “Today Friday, my office colleague Farzana’s house was robbed from the lane next to Lalbagh Tower, Azimpur Medical Staff Quarters. The robbers (a woman and two men) took away the belongings and the only child.”

Lalbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kashainu said that a woman went to the house as a sublet last Thursday. He said, “The girl was picked up without any documents as an acquaintance. That girl is our main suspect. But the housekeeper can’t say anything about her name-address or where she worked.”

Stating that the woman was at home at the time of the incident, the OC said, “When the others involved came, the girl got into the sublet and opened the door. Then they tied up the housewife and took away the child along with other things.”
