Among the new technologies in our cars, AI is causing a sensation! To the point of becoming essential in the near future?
A car, roughly speaking at the beginning, is four wheels, an engine and a steering wheel. But over the years, they have developed and today offer a multitude of equipment (essential or not), and are becoming more and more connected. The latest trend is the integration of AI into the on-board systems of new models.
Manufacturers communicate extensively on AI
Remember, at the Paris Motor Show last October, among the new products on the Renault stand, there was one that was not a car. Indeed, the French manufacturer was also promoting “Reno”, its “humanized” artificial intelligencepresent in its new electric models R5 E-Tech and R4 E-Tech. Several game terminals with Reno were installed on the stand to allow the general public, children and adults, to discover this new technology. Diamond-shaped, with two hands, two eyes and a mouth, Reno allows everyone to gently familiarize themselves with the AI, which can still be a little scary for some. A pretty smart move on the part of the manufacturer.
But Renault is not the only one to highlight artificial intelligence in its cars. In most press releases made by car manufacturers, there is now often a paragraph on AI. For example, last year we produced a video on the integration of the well-known ChatGPT on board DS models. On the Audi side, during the presentation of the Q6 Sportback e-tron, the manufacturer also emphasized the integration of a new AI represented by an avatar, which recognizes more than 800 voice commands.
Cars built with AI
Another revolution, the Xpeng P7+, an electric sedan from the eponymous manufacturer, was designed using artificial intelligence. From research to the design of the P7+, including on-board equipment and, later, in customer service, AI has and will have a significant presence in every stage of the development and marketing of the 100% car. electric. “ At XPENG, we are convinced that the future of the automotive industry lies in the technology of tomorrow: AI and autonomous driving are set to create the next revolution”says He Xiaopeng, Founder & CEO by XPENG.
And once behind the wheel, thanks to AI, the Xpeng P7+ will be able to learn the individual behaviors and preferences of its driver.
The next step is undoubtedly 100% autonomous driving, which requires AI. Many manufacturers are already investing in this new mobility solution. We are thinking in particular of robotaxis or certain shuttles already in circulation around the world. For the moment, it is mainly legislation that prevents the proliferation of autonomous cars on our roads. Either way, artificial intelligence is unlikely to leave our future cars.
