The Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, explained at B1 TV that the capping scheme will be in force until March 2025. Afterwards, only vulnerable Romanians will benefit from support.
“Until March 2025, the scheme is in force. Until then we are preparing targeted measures for vulnerable consumers, those Romanians who have difficulties paying their bills and instead of compensating everyone according to consumption, today if you have less than 100 kWh per month you have that maximum threshold of 0, 68 lei per kWh, regardless of how much money you make, where you are from, you pay a subsidized price.
From next year it won’t work like that anymore. We will have to direct only for the Romanians who really need this support”, declared Burduja.
