Age of Mythology: Retold will receive its first free update in November

The authors of Age of Mythology: Retold continue to expand the game and have just presented the first update. It will be bigger, it will bring a new game mode, Arena of the God. It will offer 35 missions in a mythical land with literally divine challenges. You can play alone or with friends.

You’ll play as Kastor and embark on missions that will take you through a mythical land, pit you against mythical enemies and – if you’re victorious – be rewarded with blessings from the gods themselves.

Arena of the Gods will offer:

• 35 epic skirmishes: Battle in a diverse mythological landscape with selectable difficulty.
• Solo or cooperative play: Play as a hero alone or team up with another friend for co-op fun.
• Get the blessings: Gain powerful abilities like Poseidon’s Rushing Tides and Thorov Crashing Thunder.
• Dynamic world twists: Enjoy constantly changing conditions that keep battles fresh and exciting.

Choose a way to play

Choose your path to glory with new and powerful blessings unlocked with each victory. Will you fight your way to the final match or will you strategically defeat each opponent on all fronts to fully customize your strategy? The choice is yours. Use your blessings to create and master your unique strategy for each encounter!

Gain the favor of the gods and receive blessings for every victory. Among several improvements, the game will offer:

• Freyja’s Chosen (Unique): Houses/manors are more expensive, but a villager will be spawned during construction.
• Gaia Roots: Heroes and Legends deal area damage.
• Odin’s Outlaw Wisdom: Special abilities and divine powers recharge faster.

Experience the twists and turns of the world

But beware, the mythical land is full of world twists, and you can make the most of them with World Twists, which add changes to the gameplay.

From World Twists, for example, you will experience:

• The remains of Atlantis by Gaia: Clusters of units appear on the map for players to collect when they reach certain objectives.
• Thothov world twist: Double effect for all God technologies.
• Freyjin world twist: Cavalry training is more expensive, but changes to infantry after death.

The update will come on November 7.
