Concepts NREC announces the latest version of the Agile Engineering Design System, an integrated suite of CAE and CAM software modules specialized for vane machines. For decades, the company has offered Pushbutton CFD, an option for a vane machine designer to run computational fluid dynamics inside a design environment with a set of default meshes, boundary conditions, and solver settings, and then process the CFD results with vane machine-specific views.

For the last 8 years they have included the ability to run NUMECA Fine/Turbo (now Cadence Fidelity) in the same environment, and with the release of version 2024.2, the ANSYS TurboGrid mesher and CFX solvers can be used in the same way.

Concepts NREC also made a major upgrade to its Throughflow solver. The Throughflow solver is a 2D version of the pbCFD solver that relies on empirical models of blade-to-blade losses and deviations. The Throughflow solver now includes a design mode that can automatically adjust the inlet and outlet angle of the vanes to match the desired gradient and grade pressure distribution. In addition, they continue to work to facilitate the design and analysis of secondary flow in all classes of bladed machines at all levels (centerline, 3D geometry and CFD). All modules have been upgraded in this version.

Any CAE tooling design can be transferred to MAX-PAC, a five-axis machining toolpath software specialized for vane machines. At the same time, MAX-PAC version 2024.2 was released, which includes major improvements to the mixer functionality. Users can now generate plates, pulls, transitions and change spindle speeds while mixing operations. They also continue to plan to make MAX-PAC easier to use by allowing customization of the APT format inside the MAX-PAC user interface.

Version 2024.2 is now available for download for active Agile Product Support (APS) members v centru zákaznické podpory.
