Agriculture Minister assures that he will ask for “all possible help” from the EU once the damage from the fires has been assessed – Politics

Agriculture Minister José Manuel Fernandes assured this Monday in Brussels that Portugal will ask for all possible help from farmers affected by the recent fires, but first an assessment of the damage must be made.

“We will ask for everything that is possible,” he said, speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the European Union (EU) Council of Agriculture Ministers, which is taking place in Brussels this Monday.

José Manuel Fernandes specified that before moving forward there must be “an accounting (of the damage), which is underway”.
