Agrinio: The final “goodbye” to 18-year-old Haritini is in a climate of pain

Relatives, friends as well as dozens of ordinary citizens, have been since early afternoon on Tuesday (26/11) in I.N. Panagias Axion Esti in Lefka Agriniou, to say goodbye to 18-year-old Haritini and to sympathize with her family, who are grieving their second child, from the traffic accident that happened on Saturday night (2/11).

It was November 2nd, when Akis’ son, together with his sister Haritini, wanted to go for a ride with the motorbike. On the Antirrio – Ioannina National Highway, at the Megali Chora intersection, the motorcycle they were riding on collided with the car driven by a 37-year-old Roma, who crossed the road vertically.

The 20-year-old Akis died instantly, while the girl, the athlete and student Haritini, fought an unequal battle until the day before yesterday, Sunday, November 24, when she expired in the ICU of the Agrinio hospital.

It is recalled that the driver of the vehicle was arrested after the accident. After being charged with manslaughter and causing bodily harm by negligence, he was released.

Shortly before 3 in the afternoon, the white coffin with the body of the 18-year-old passed the door of the church, for the funeral service. Tragic figures, her parents, her two siblings, the friends and classmates of the unfortunate girl who so unfairly and violently had her life thread cut off, before she could live it.
