AHM Education on Electric Motorcycle Technology at Astra Honda Vocational Schools

DAPURPACUID – PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) enriched the knowledge of the younger generation in dozens of Astra Honda-assisted vocational schools, as many as 2,523 vocational school students enthusiastically took part in the Astra Honda Knowledge Sharing (AHBI) program with the main material being electric motorbike technology.

Students gain a variety of knowledge directly provided by certified instructors as industrial guest teachers. In this knowledge transfer process, students directly had the opportunity to learn more deeply about electric motorbike technology with the Honda EM1 e: teaching aid.

Students learn various features, components and functions, how they work, and maintain electric motorbikes. Activities are packaged interactively in classroom sessions by inviting students to experience riding on a comfortable, safe and high quality Honda electric motorbike.

“The Astra Honda Knowledge Sharing activity was very exciting because I gained new knowledge and understood more about the components of Honda electric motorbikes directly,” said Saad Ilyas, a student at SMK Negeri 1 Depok.

SMK Negeri 1 Depok is one of 12 schools in the Jakarta, West Java and Banten areas that AHM visited in the AHBI program from May to October 2024.

Other schools are SMK Science and Technology Jakarta, SMKN 8 Kab. Tangerang, SMK Bina Mandiri Bekasi, SMK Rosma Karawang, SMKN 3 Tangsel City, SMKN 34 Jakarta, SMK Jaya Buana Tangerang, SMKN 1 Karawang, SMK Mitra Industri MM2100, SMK Taman Siswa 2 Jakarta, and SMKN 1 Plered Purwakarta.

General Manager of Corporate Communication AHM Ahmad Muhibbuddin said that Astra Honda Sharing Knowledge is a company program to improve the quality of student competence to become superior human resources in the vocational field, armed with knowledge and skills that are relevant to the development of two-wheeled automotive technology.

“Through the spirit of Synergy for the Nation, we continue to encourage improvements in the quality of vocational education by actively distributing material about the latest developments in electric motorbike technology for students quickly, precisely and comprehensively,” said Muhib.

AHBI participants also had the opportunity to get to know the world of lectures, through a campus introduction presented by ASTRAtech. Apart from that, students also studied various material related to motorbike spare parts which was delivered directly by instructors from a number of spare parts manufacturers such as PT Hitachi Astemo Manufacturing Bekasi, PT Musahi Auto Parts Indonesia, PT Surayaraya Rubberindo Industries, and PT Yutaka Manufacturing Indonesia.

Competency Test Facility

In an effort to support the creation of quality human resources who are ready to enter the world of work, AHM is also developing infrastructure to support student competency calibration. AHM partner vocational school students in the East Java region have 2 new Competency Test Site (TUK) facilities which were opened at SMKN 1 Jatirejo District. Jombang and SMKN 2 Kraksaan Kab. Probolinggo.

To date, there are 112 AHM partner vocational schools that have the Astra Honda industry standard TUK throughout Indonesia. A total of 15,377 students were recorded as having carried out a certified Skills Competency Test (UKK) equivalent to Technical Training Level (TTL) 1 or were recognized as basic Astra Honda mechanics.
