AI movies and series: The way to the future?

There are many citizens who firmly believe that they could make good series and movies themselves, if only someone would give them the opportunity. AI can now help them verify that this is correct. Or can’t? Actor and director Ben Affleck speaking at the 2024 CNBC Delivering Alpha Summit said that not everything is so easy.

In May 2024, it was possible to read that is preparing a new AI streaming service that offers users the opportunity to create their own contentand experts say that the worst nightmare feared by everyone in Hollywood has come true. The startup Fable Studio is behind the project, and the description states that subscribers will be able to watch AI-generated series, but also create their own. In other words, they got the ability to control characters, dialogues, frames and everything else.

The service got a name Showrunner and it looks like Netflix. Professional directors and creators (who use AI tools) will get the most space, but the company says that those who want more episodes will be able to make them themselves. A solution to the problem of canceling favorite series? Maybe, but fun can easily turn into chaos – art is something that cannot do without knowledge and rules.

Tales of AI feats are a favorite topic of many, but we can hardly imagine a scenario in which someone looks forward to an AI series “filmed” by a mere mortal. Affleck agrees and says that AI will not soon take the place of creative human individuals and individuals – “AI can imitate lines very well, but it’s hardly Shakespeare“, he said at the summit. He added that he sees AI as a potential aid, but he cannot imagine that artificial intelligence will soon find itself in the role of an artist.
