Apple has just revealed an interesting new feature with the launch of the fourth generation of AirPodsremoving the physical configuration button on the back of the charging case of previous models. Instead of the classic button, the company has opted for a more modern and minimalist solution: a hidden capacitive button.
As reported by Gear Patrolthe new capacitive button for pairing and resetting the AirPods 4 is located on the front of the charging case. To activate pairing mode, simply open the case and double-tap the front, where the hidden controller is located. This button isn’t just for pairing; a factory reset is also done via this hidden button. According to Gear Patrol, a triple tap or long press will do the reset.
Another feature that distinguishes the AirPods 4 is the new indicator light. Unlike previous versions, where the LED light was always visible, the indicator now appears only when the case is opened or placed on charge, disappearing completely under the white plastic when not in use. This minimalist design choice helps give an even cleaner and more refined look to the charging case.
