Alan Wake 2 received a new The Lake House expansion earlier this week, which may have hinted at the design of Remedy’s next game.

In The Lake House, players explore a mysterious research facility on the shores of Cauldron Lake as Agent Estevez, who visits the Oceanview Motel known from Control towards the end of the game. From here, they eventually make their way to The Oldest House’s Panopticon, where they encounter Control’s protagonist’s brother, Dylan Faden, who says that “something has changed” outside the building and is getting worse by the minute.
After the conversation, the game shows a few scenes of a distorted New York, which has led fans to speculate that the city may serve as Control 2’s new game area, with Dylan possibly as another main character.
