Kano Pillars attacking midfielder, Rabiu Ali, has exclusively told Completesports.com that he’s aiming to score 20 goals in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Ali, 44, has already scored three goals, following his brace in the Pyramid City side’s shock 4-3 win against the Coal City Flying Antelopes, Rangers, in Enugu, during a Matchday 7 fixture.

“It’s not about me scoring, but about the team, Kano Pillars, winning game after game,” said Ali, who is one of the oldest players in the domestic top flight.

“But to win games, you must score goals. I’m happy to score goals that help Kano Pillars win matches.

“Yes, that was my third goal of the season. As for my goal target, well, I’m looking at 20. Yes, I believe it’s possible, and one can only pray to Allah to keep us free from injury. Other than that, I believe with hard work, it’s very possible.”

Ali also pointed out that there was nothing extraordinary about scoring four goals against Rangers in Enugu.

“That’s football for you. And that also shows that the league is much better now. I remember during the Aiteo FA Cup Final in 2018 in Asaba, we scored three goals against Rangers in the first half. It’s all about taking your chances when they come,” Ali concluded.
