Alibaba’s AI search engine reaches 500,000 SMEs




Alibaba International announced that Accio, its AI-powered business-to-business (B2B) search engine for product research, has reached a significant milestone since its launch in November 2024 and is now used by more than 500,000 SMEs.

Millions of suppliers from around the world listed by Accio. By using natural language processing to improve search capabilities, Accio allows SMB buyers to intuitively discover the products they need. A search engine that now lists millions of suppliers around the world. The goal is to connect SME buyers with the ideal partners to transform their product concepts into viable business projects. Covering more than 7,600 product categories, Accio is rigorously developed based on more than 200 million specific global trade parameters.

Since its launch, the Accio Inspiration feature has increased supplier conversion rates by nearly 30%, from search to quote request.

Performance during the holiday season

During the peak online sales period in November and December, more than 50,000 SMBs around the world actively used Accio to find inspiration for Black Friday and Christmas stocking. User reviews show that the search engine helped them achieve this goal effectively.

Accio now has an NPS (Net Promoter Score) above 50(1), indicating a high level of customer satisfaction. On December 13, 2024, the dynamic search engine was also named “Product of the Day” on Product Hunt, a site that lists new technology products. A distinction which thus consolidates its status as an essential tool for SME buyers around the world.

Global BtoB e-commerce enters the era of AI search

Alibaba International launched Accio at a crucial time for the development of AI tools and the global B2B commerce market. Unlike traditional keyword searching, Accio is designed to enable natural language searches. This development represents a significant advance in search technology, allowing users to interact with the search engine in a more intuitive and conversational way. Accio is currently available in English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish, with additional languages ​​planned for future updates.

The Accio Page feature provides a dynamic Wikipedia-like interface, reconstructing product information in familiar, user-friendly language. It provides objective product details and comparisons to similar items, making it easy for businesses to make informed sourcing decisions.

Additionally, Accio Agent simplifies the process of tracking requests, payments and offers after-sales support, effectively acting as a professional sourcing agent using Alibaba International’s robust infrastructure.
