He said this in a press briefing held at the administrative building of Payra Port Authority at Kalapara, Patuakhali on Monday at 12 noon.
He said, ‘About several thousand crores of rupees have already been spent on the development of Payra port. Therefore, the goal and purpose of his government is to take forward all kinds of work of this project.’
Pointing out that there is no alternative to connect the railway line with Payra port, he said, ‘The benefits of Payra port will be available very quickly only after the completion of the rail line connection.’
He discussed the necessary infrastructure for operation of Payra Port, land acquisition and rehabilitation of affected families, first terminal and ancillary facilities of Payra Sea Port, capital and maintenance dredging scheme of Ramnabad channel and facilities, achievements and achievements of the port.
At this time Payra Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury, Shipping Ministry Acting Secretary Sanjay Kumar Banik, Project Director Commodore Rajiv Tripura along with port and ministry officials were present.
