All in One: You can use these AI models in GitHub

The online service has also announced the launch of an AI tool called Spark, which enables the development of personalized web apps. GitHub also works in a press release on various innovations for GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Copilot Workspace and Copilot Autofix. The goal is to ultimately reach a billion developers through innovations like these. GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke commented:

For too long, there has been an unscalable barrier of entry separating a vast majority of the world’s population from building software. This can change with GitHub Spark, our new AI-native tool to build applications entirely in natural language. With Spark, we will enable over one billion personal computer and mobile phone users to build and share their own micro apps directly on GitHub—the creator network for the Age of AI.

Claude 3.5 and Gemini 1.5 Pro will be available to GitHub Copilot users in web and VS Code over the coming weeks. The integration of the various OpenAI models should follow soon. Developers can flexibly switch back and forth between the AI models in the Copilot Chat depending on the task. The AI Answering Machine Perplexity also announced a collaboration with GitHub on X.

The cooperation is intended to enable users to stay up to date with the latest library updates and also quickly receive answers to a wide range of questions. The integration can be installed free of charge for Perplexity and GitHub users via the GitHub Marketplace.

In addition to the partnership with GitHub, the AI Answering Machine, which has already proven to be a popular alternative to ChatGPT, Google (Gemini) and Co., plans to make AI search more diverse than ever. Perplexity is currently looking for creators who can enrich the Discover Feed with their own content.
