Delivery of the all-new KONA Electric from Hyundai to the first 3 customers.

DAPURPACUID – A week after launching at the 2024 GIIAS event, PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) immediately handed over the all-new KONA Electric units to the first three customers.

In addition to the handover, on this occasion, PT HMID collaborated with Blue Bird to provide 10 units of the all-new KONA Electric which will be used to support clean mobility in the IKN Nusantara.

Woojune Cha, President Director of PT HMID, said that the proof of the company’s commitment to accelerating electrification in Indonesia is by presenting a complete EV supply chain.

Furthermore, Hyundai’s commitment is marked by the inauguration of the HLI battery cell factory which produces the first local electric vehicle batteries.

“This allows us to hand over the all-new KONA Electric to Bluebird partners and the first 3 consumers,” said Cha in his statement, Thursday (25/7).

Meanwhile, Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, Chief Operating Officer of PT HMID added that the positive consumer response to KONA Electric provided additional motivation to present a variety of EV models made in Indonesia in the future.

“Therefore, we continue to invite stakeholders, from the government to the private sector, to jointly accelerate the electrification of the automotive industry which provides more benefits for consumers,” he added.

At the same time, Adrianto Djokosoetono, President Director of Blue Bird, appreciated Hyundai’s consistent efforts in providing a line of high-quality electric vehicles.

According to him, this is to bring more environmentally friendly, renewable mobility closer to the wider community.

He is also proud to have the opportunity to use the all-new KONA Electric to support clean mobility in the Indonesian Capital City.

“This indirectly contributes to Blue Bird’s Sustainability Vision commitment to reduce 50 percent of emissions by 2030 and help the government achieve net zero emissions by 2060,” he concluded.

On the other hand, Marco Dewanto, who is one of the buyers of KONA Electric, admitted that he was very happy to be able to receive the all-new KONA Electric so quickly, where he had just made the purchase last June.

“This further convinces me that Hyundai’s product and service ecosystem is indeed aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction,” he said. (dpid/DF)
