Everything changes and nothing changes for the new iPhone models. As had been rumored months ago, the size of the space dedicated to the sensor was going to be significantly reduced, as happened with the iPhone X. However, there are many small details that we find behind the new range of devices from the Cupertino company.
Find out with us all the latest news about the new iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, Apple’s bestsellers.

Design: Few new features, but enough
The design hasn’t changed much, but Apple’s printer appears to be running ink again. A lively range of colours is being brought back, although both black and white remain, with the arrival of bold shades such as fuchsia pink, aquamarine green and a rather peculiar blue. This color range in particular has no previous point of comparison at Apple.
The size of the space dedicated to the double photographic sensor has been significantly reduced. In this sense we have a vertical arrangement leaving the LED flash on the right side, something that, at least in my opinion, is much more aesthetically pleasing.
- Dynamic Island
- Next-generation Face ID
- IP68 resistance
However, the size of the device and the material used for previous versions of the iPhone are maintained. This will be, for now, one of the main differences with its older brother, the iPhone 16 Pro in its two variants. For its part, The weight has barely changed by a gram, so we will not make special mention of this issue.
What we do have is a new capacitive button on the side, reminding us of the use we once gave to the Home button.
Screen, sound and connectivity, almost unchanged
The new iPhone 16, in its two variants, has panels Super Retina XDR (OLED), adjusting their resolutions to the size of the panel, to keep the 460 pixels per inch unfazed. You will be familiar with the iPhone 15 versions, since there are no changes.
The panel remains one of the best rated on the market, while the screen upgrade remains unfazed, i.e. Apple continues to bet on 60Hz on the panel, something that clearly has nothing to do with the battery capacity, since the “Pro” version, with a variable refresh rate, is not much larger.
At the sound level, eThe iPhone 16 in both versions has a dual stereo speaker, one complete at the bottom of the device, where always, and another accompaniment in the traditional earpiece. In this sense, as it could not be otherwise, it is fully compatible with the protocols Dolby Atmos, making it one of the best acoustic devices available on the market.
- Special mention should be made of the USB-C 2.0, which transfers only 480 Mbps.
- Second generation UltraWideBand.
- Wireless MagSafe charging.
In terms of connectivity, we have practically the latest versions of everything. Wi-Fi 7 to be able to achieve the maximum speeds available on the network, as well as Bluetooth 5.3 compatible with all high-end devices. In this case, the iPhone still has a microSIM tray available for mobile connectivity, which can be accompanied by the already classic e.g digital, all to access the networks 5G, which in this case are still not compatible with the mmWave protocol that would offer the highest speeds and which is limited to the United States of America.
Power and autonomy
The iPhone 16 in its two variants will mount the new Apple A18, a processor that drinks directly from the Apple A17 Pro that the iPhone 15 Pro mounted last year. In this case, they take advantage of the new 3-nanometer lithography, but the power will be the same, so it will be compatible with all of Apple’s Artificial Intelligence systems, which for the moment will not receive our coverage since they will not be offered in Spanish.
As for the battery, this iPhone 16 will have a capacity of 3,877 mAh, while the iPhone 16 Plus will reach the not inconsiderable 4,006 mAh, So it is expected to be the iPhone with the longest battery life to date.
Lights, camera and… Action!
The capacitive action button for the camera is here to stay, and is available on both versions of the iPhone 16. However, the cameras, or at least the sensors, bring rather little new in this regard.
- Main Chamber: 48 Megapixel Wide Angle, with a size of 26 millimeters, f/1.6 aperture and a x2 optical zoom, as well as a mechanical stabilizer. It is capable of recording video at 4K resolution up to 60 FPS without breaking a sweat.
- Ultra Wide Angle: A 12 Megapixel sensor, with a size of 13 millimeters, f/2.2 aperture and autofocus, without mechanical stabilization.
- Selfie camera: 12 Megapixel True Depth, with f/1.9 aperture.
Therefore, as you have been able to observe, The iPhone 16 cameras remain exactly the same to the previous version, only improving the aperture of the Ultra Wide Angle.
All this from 959 euros for the iPhone 16, and 1,109 euros for the iPhone 16 Plus. Reservations begin on September 13 at 2:00 p.m. on the official Apple website, and the first deliveries will take place on the day September 20th.
