Almost 400 abandoned cars have been found on the streets of St. Petersburg since the beginning of the year

St. Petersburg residents themselves complained about abandoned cars occupying parking spaces.

In St. Petersburg, work continues to remove abandoned and half-dismantled cars from city streets and yards. Abandoned cars often interfere with cleaning of the territory, the access of emergency services, and take up parking spaces.

According to the press service of the Transport Committee, 369 complaints from St. Petersburg residents about such vehicles were received in the first six months of 2024. Specialists processed 406 requests from city residents, taking into account requests for December last year.

The department noted that the removal of dismantled vehicles is carried out by the State Institution “Agency for External Transport” at the request of district administrations.

Residents of St. Petersburg are asked to leave a message on the portal “Our St. Petersburg” in category 12.0 of the message classifier “Disassembled vehicle” if they find abandoned vehicles on the city streets.
