Although we’ll see the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE in ’25, it will run on an older Exynos SoC

Cheap versions of folding Galaxy Z Flip και Z Fold are being prepared by Samsung for wide commercial release according to a growing number of reports. They are said to belong to the series “Fan Edition”but details are rather scarce at this point in time. But now the latest information from a tipster gives us food for further thought.

So according to rumors, the Galaxy Z Flip FE will run with this year’s chipset Exynos 2400but when the device actually launches, the SoC will be at least a year old. This marks a slightly different strategy compared to the standard S FE series, which tends to get the latest chipset, albeit a slimmer version like the Galaxy S24 FE with the Exynos 2400e.

Note that this does not automatically mean that the Z Fold FE will use the same SoC, leaving open the possibility that Samsung will decide on something else.

While it may sound a little frustrating to some, we think it’s a sensible way to cut costs. Exynos 2400 will be perfect proposition for 2025 and more people will be able to afford such a foldable phone.
