For people who need a great camera phone while enjoying a good software experience and for a good time, Google’s Pixel 8 Pro remains a good candidate. Today, its price is down sharply for the 512GB version, going from $1,299 to $893 on Amazon.
The new Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro have taken over and now present the best of the Mountain View firm. The Pixel 8 Pro remains no less interesting, especially now that the price of the 512 GB version costs much less than its successor.
What makes the Google Pixel 8 Pro interesting?

Google Pixel 8 Pro at the best price
A well-groomed smartphone
With its matte back, thin edges, flat front screen and even bezels, the Pixel 8 Pro’s design is almost flawless. Despite its generous dimensions, it can be held in the hand for several hours without feeling any discomfort (I don’t have big hands though).
It offers the same format and screen size as its predecessor, with an Oled panel in QHD+ definition (not forgetting the 120 Hz refresh rate) measuring 6.7 inches.
A well-stocked photo section, and also software
On the back, there is a single bubble that houses three cameras. It remains one of the best photophones on the market: telephoto lens, portrait mode, effective video stabilization, not to mention the editing options at our disposal, such as the improved Magic Eraser and the Best Shot mode.
Equipped with Google’s Tensor 3 chip, the device lags behind the competition and experiences some heating episodes. Fortunately, the “Pixel Experience” and Android 14 catches up with everything. It’s particularly fluid and very pleasant. It even has seven years of major updates as well as seven years of security updates. Which means it will receive Android 21 in 2030!
Finally, the autonomy of the Google phone ensures you a day of use. Be careful, however, on demanding applications, the smartphone drops very quickly. As for charging, it is anything but fast and the charger is not provided.
