Amazon has launched its own digital assistant. Will help with custom shopping

  • Amazon has launched a chatbot on the web and in the mobile app
  • It is a bit reminiscent of ChatGPT
  • It is intended to help make shopping more efficient and easier

Artificial intelligence has already arrived at Amazon. If you like shopping in his giant e-shop, you certainly know how difficult it is sometimes to find the exact one you are looking for among countless products. A chatbot and a personal digital assistant in one are now supposed to help with this. But it is not an ordinary chat window, which many e-shops already have. Amazon brought a kind of equivalent to ChatGPT.

Amazon Rufusas the new chatbot is called, is based on 80 thousand chips for AI Trainium and Inferentia and was trained directly on Amazon products. It also stocks information from user reviews or questions and answers. And since it is one of the largest shipping e-shops in the world, he got a really huge amount of training data.

The chatbot can thus help not only with finding the necessary product, but also with finding out technical parameters or comparing different types of goods. He should de facto replace the expertwith whom you could consult the selection in a regular store and get advice from him. At the same time, the conversation should proceed naturally and smoothly.

Unfortunately, we will not see this AI helper in Europe yet. Amazon has launched it so far in the USA and there is no news about further extensions (typically on Amazon.de).

Would you appreciate the help of artificial intelligence when choosing products?
