Amazon’s new color Kindle debuts with a problem

Low-power electronic displays offer one way Fantastic to consume all types of written and printed media, and the technology continues to improve. While Amazon is one of the most prominent manufacturers in the industry thanks to its series of e-readers Kindle long-standing , the company has been a bit slow to embrace some of these advancements, and perhaps most noticeably, the availability of color screens.

That finally changed just a few weeks ago with the launch of the first color Kindle, the Kindle Colorsoft. Now, however, we are already hearing about problems with this new hardware, as owners have discovered that the color pops up wherever it is not expected.

The main problem is that the Kindle Colorsoft seems to have a slight yellowish tint at the bottom of the tablet screen. Screen problems like this have a nasty habit of being hardware-related, but in this case, however, Amazon seems to think software might be to blame. The company is in fact talking about a software update designed to address the appearance of that yellowing.

As if all this wasn’t a debut enough problematic for Amazon’s first color Kindle, Digital Trends also points out that the Colorsoft missed one point, a rather trivial standard on any device these days: the dark mode.
