Ambassador Vizeu Pinheiro maintains his position as Secretary General of the Internal Security System – Portugal

The uncertainty surrounding the new secretary-general of the Internal Security System (SSI), an organization that reports to the Prime Minister and coordinates security forces and services, means that the current holder of the position, Ambassador Paulo Vizeu Pinheiro, will remain in office.

The diplomat’s departure was scheduled for July 15. However, after it was impossible to obtain the acceptance of figures such as the former director of the PSP, Luís Farinha, or the current president of the Civil Protection, Duarte da Costa, it was decided to extend Vizeu Pinheiro’s position until August 22.
