Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Watch 5 Lite, a new smartwatch that combines advanced functionality with an affordable price, thus strengthening its position in the wearables market.
Design and screen
This device comes shortly after the launch of the Redmi Watch 5 Active and promises to be an alternative for consumers looking for a balance between performance and budget.
The device has a 1.96-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 502×410 pixels and a maximum brightness of 600 nits.
Personalization and Software
Users can customize the look with over 200 watch faces available in the cloud, of which 50+ are fully customizable and 30+ are optimized for always-on mode.
The operating system is HyperOS, which means the watch is compatible with Android 6+ and iOS 12+ smartphones. It also offers integration with the Alexa virtual assistant.
Communication functions
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite also offers Bluetooth calling.
Equipped with a speaker and two microphones with ambient noise cancellation technology, the watch promises clear conversations even in noisy environments.
Health and physical activity monitoring
In terms of health and fitness monitoring, the device has a heart rate sensor and supports more than 150 sports modes for both indoor and outdoor use.
The smartwatch also has 5 ATM water resistance.
Other features
The watch includes an SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation, a multi-functional side button, Bluetooth 5.3 and integrated GPS.
The 470 mAh battery promises up to 18 days of typical use or 12 days of intensive use.
Weight and straps
The watch itself weighs just 29.2 grams without the strap. The straps, made of TPU, are adjustable for a length between 135-200 mm.
The watch is available in two main colors: black and gold. There are also additional strap options in vibrant shades of green, pink and yellow.
Availability and price
The launch price of Redmi Watch 5 Lite in India is around 40 Euros. Sales will begin on September 26.
It is also expected to arrive in Europe in the coming months.
