An activist from Szolnok’s Tisza Sziget was arrested by the court for cigarette smuggling

On Friday, the District Court of Kecskemét decided to arrest four people for 30 days, who are suspected by the Bács-Kiskun County Prosecutor’s Office of acquiring and trading tobacco and cigarettes exempt from excise tax, the Mandarin. Máté Kövecs, the spokesperson of the Attorney General’s Office, told the government-party portal that the investigating authority initiated the arrest on the suspicion of two members of the company in the evening of money laundering of a particularly large value, business-like money laundering, while the other two persons were suspected of money laundering of a significant value; citing the risk of absconding and recidivism.

The court remanded the suspects for thirty days. According to the prosecutor’s office, the decision became final in the case of two suspects, while the other two perpetrators appealed against the decision. – One of them is none other than the county coordinator of the Tisza Party in Szolnok and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok – Mandiner added, referring to an anonymous source, and it was even claimed that the man took part in the previous demonstration of Péter Magyar’s party in front of the MTVA headquarters too.

However, as it turned out, the news is true, but not quite as the pro-government portal knew, because the Glance he also approached the Tisza Party as an affected party. The largest opposition party stated: “The Tisza Islands are civil organizations founded and organized by enthusiastic supporters. They provide our social base, but they operate without legal authority. The Szolnok man accused of economic crimes was connected to one of our Tisza Islands. Even before the news broke, as soon as we became aware of the criminal proceedings against the person concerned, we canceled the man’s registration immediately.”
