an electric cargo bike with extra fat tires

The two most controversial vehicles on the cycle path have had a love child: the fat bike and the cargo bike together form the heavy duty cargo bike.

The Dutch company Stout Bikes has been making fat bikes for some time, but with a well-known design: fat tires and a long saddle. The new Stoer CargoX is an electric cargo bike with the same characteristic extra thick tires. And that long saddle is still there, just like that angular, thick frame.

The CargoX really looks like an extended fat bike with a box placed in between. The whole is powered by a 250W Bafang H720 hub motor with 92 Nm of torque and an automatic gear system. For more natural support, the CargoX has a force sensor, so that the motor adapts to how hard you pedal.

Place for four children

The box itself has two benches with room for four children and can be expanded with various accessories, such as a cover aimed at companies and a rain tent for consumers. The bike has turn signals, brake lights and a waterproof 4-inch screen.

The CargoX can be test driven and ordered from Friday 24 November. The fatbak bike is available in the colors Dessert Sand, Nardo Gray and Forrest Green and is available from 5,495 euros.
