After 20 years since entering the Romanian market, the Smithfield Group of companies, which in 2004 took over the Timișoara Comtim plant, the largest pork producer in the country, initiated a corporate rebranding process.

The purpose of the rebranding is to give the general public a clear picture of the company’s mission and values, but also of the sustainable way in which it produces 100% Romanian pork, writes ziuadevest.ro.

In the year in which it celebrates two decades, the company wants to present the evolution anchored in local tradition, so that, starting from October 2024, Smithfield Romania will carry out its activity under the new name of “Comtim Romania SRL”, a name that overlaps with the name of the 100 brand % Romanian pork, Comtim.

“The new name pays tribute to all that Comtim has meant in the past and to the professionals who put the meat industry in its place of honor. A source of regional and even national pride, the Comtim brand tells a memorable story of a Romanian tradition. Our team is now carrying on the legend of a meat brand with national tradition and authentic Romanian taste, and we present ourselves to the public as we are: a solid company that sets the standards of excellence in the industry.” said Goran Panici, the general director of Comtim Romania.
