an employee with the right attitudes is a great resource for the company

The sums spent on training can be better directed if attention is already paid during the recruitment process to ensure that the candidate has important attitudes for the company, confirmed Jonna Pechter, head of Bigbank Estonia’s business unit, and Gerly Roosmets, head of employee experience.

“Knowledge can be learned, but the person must have the motivation to do the work,” said Pechter.

If the manager shows the employee what the expectations of the company and the manager are, the employee will be more productive and his motivation and job satisfaction will be higher. The toolbox of Bigbank’s department managers includes a competency model that can be used to support the company’s values, such as the ability to cooperate and orientation to results. “We also have a manager’s expectations model, because we already want the employee to be able to say that he has the best manager in his life. Here, the HR department can support the manager, but the manager must have the competencies himself,” admitted Gerly Roosmets, head of employee experience.

Listen to what Jonna Pechter, head of Bigbank Estonia’s business unit, and Gerly Roosmets, head of employee experience, said in the “My career” program and how 4DX, LEAN and agile methodologies help in employee development. The show is hosted by Juuli Nemvalts.
